Raising the Bar – Adding Luggage Racks for Guests

A gracious host is forward-thinking and considerate of a guests comfort.  When people visit it is nice for them to have a place to put their suitcases other than the floor, and this becomes even more important as guests get older.  Both my father and step-mother are in their 70s, and when they come to stay I would prefer they not have to bend over or sit on the floor to pick out their clothes for the day.

For the last several years I’ve had a couple of Whitmor’s chrome luggage racks1, which have been fine, but also rather basic.

Recently I have upgraded to a pair of Fendee bamboo luggage racks2 and they are a significant improvement.  Already pre-assembled, the Fendee luggage racks have a good weight, so they are not going to tip or fall over.   Able to hold up to 150 pounds of suitcases, the racks are well built and have a solid feel to them.  Of course, they fold for easy storage in a closet or under the bed when guests leave.  Having the bottom shelf is terrific feature, allowing visitors a bit of extra storage to keep shoes, slippers, toiletry bags, etc., off the floor.

Luggage racks are a simple and reasonably priced way to level-up every GeekHome, and I highly recommend them.
