The “Bomb” OS Crash Icon from the Atari ST computers.

Released in June 1985, the Atari 520ST was designed to compete against the, at the time, still unreleased Commodore Amiga computer. Featuring a Motorola 68000 CPU running at 8MHz, the 520ST, and later its ‘big brother’ the 1040ST, initially lead the sales contest between the two systems. Running a customized version of Digital Research’s GEM operating system, the ST had a clever icon to represent a system crash – The Bomb.

This downloadable ZIP file contains a 500×500 transparent PNG of the classic Atari ST “Bomb” crash icon. Perfect for backgrounds and wallpapers for desktops, tablets and phones.
