Amiga Workbench v1.2 Startup/Boot Screen Wallpaper
Like Kickstart, the initial versions of Workbench were a mess, with an extremely short development times and pushed-out-the-door on marketing’s schedule. To their credit, however, Commodore was able to get out Workbench v1.2, and the Amiga became a much more stable machine. You really only needed to keep copies of v1.0 or 1.1 around for the handful of the early Electronic Arts games for the Amiga that refused to work under v1.2+. Unfortunately, those generally included updated versions of EA’s hit 8-bit games, such as Archon, Seven Cities of Gold, etc.
The downloadable ZIP file contains the famous “Hand with the Workbench Disk” screenshots in the original 320×480 format, as well as: 480×800 & 640×960 (great for phones), 1024×768 & 1280×800 (for iPads and tablets), 1440×900, 1600×1200, 720P and 1080P.

Hey, does anyone know what font the “Work bench” text on the disk is in?
Do you mean the font used in the Workbench desktop, or the font used on the label printed on the disc? The desktop, at least in Workbench 1.x, should be Topaz – http://geekometry.com/2013/11/amiga-topaz-truetype-font-for-windows-and-mac-os/
I was looking for the font used on the label on the disk, yeah (when you first switch the machine on). I eventually found the font on some site, but didn’t want to pay $30 for it. Thankfully the site had a preview function that didn’t watermark the custom text you typed in, so I screengrabbed what I needed. 😉
Oh, from the boot-screen, interesting. Do you remember the site where you found that font?
